Republic Becomes Empire

With my new power, I went to conquer Spain and to reinforce Roman rule in Gaul. I then returned to Rome to focus more on building projects for Rome. I restored 82 temples in a year, built the theatre of Apollo, the Horologium, and my own mausoleum. The senate further gave consulship for life and giving me the title of princeps, which means emperor. I was especially honored when the senate granted me a new honor, father of the country.

  1. Augustus I strongly disagree with your military and government strategies. You believe that you are greater than every citizen. In the aspect of military I do not agree with your alimenta.

  2. Trajanus, I understand your logic in thinking how I believe I am greater than every citizen. But in my view, your logic is invalid. If I really thought I was greater than the average citizen, would I have built all these public places for my fellow Romans? I build these because I truly care for the Romans, just like my late father, Julius Caesar. Although I am a dictator, I am so for the good of the Roman people. I try my best to make life as good as it can be for the people.

  4. Augustus, From the aspect of you being compared against me in how we ruled our people, you were believed to be cruel in your early age. I understand that as you aged, you became more of a understanding and accepting ruler. From the time I was on my way home to accept the throw as emperor, I marched into Rome ground level in a crowd of cheering citizens. The people loved me as an emperor and I have been called the emperor most close to the people. I hope we can resolve our conflicts and be friends.

  5. I hope you use your new power well Augustus. Since you defeated Marc Antony and I to get your power I hope you do well with it, as Antony would have done. Although I am very upset that you beat Marc Antony and I, which led to our deaths, I still hope you do Rome good. I hope you bring greatness to Rome and the Roman citizens.

  9. Tiberius: I'm very glad that I was able to make way for the next strong leader of the glorious empire of Rome. I hope that I have inspired you and many others.

  10. I'm sorry I declined the job of being your private secratary. I just would rather keep writing. Oh, and I am almost finished with writing CARMEN SAECULARE (the secular hymn you told me to write, to try to restore the glory of the empire.) The hymn and this great empire are turning out great!
